Let’s get started!
What attracted you to TTRPGs?
I was always a fan of fantasy, sci-fi, video games, and Super Heroes as a child growing up. I spent a great part of my childhood collecting comic books, reading novels, playing video games, and watching all sorts of television shows and movies around those genres. I guess I was the perfect candidate to get into roleplaying games. I was introduced to roleplaying games by my 7th grade English teacher. The rest is history. I have been gaming ever since.
What is your favorite type of music, or favorite group/artist?
I was blessed to live in a household where music was present pretty much every day. I grew up listening to a wide variety of different styles of music. Between Salsa and soulful Motown music coming from the kitchen, hard rock and punk being played in my brother’s room, or RB and pop coming from my sisters’ room. Even though I love all music to this day. I think the music that has inspired me the most is hip hop. I grew up an 80’s kid in New York City and that was the sound of my youth. My 2 favorite artist of all time I think and KRS-one and Wu-Tang Clan, but funny enough if I want to relax or sit down and write a game session it’s Bob Marley or Bob Dylan all day.
Describe a favorite scenario you ran in a TTRPG
I don’t think I have a favorite scenario per se because I have had so many great experiences gaming and they all bring back great memories for different reasons. I have a One-Shot version of the old Disney movie “Sky High” called “a night at the movies”, that I have run a few times and have streamed on our YouTube channel that always puts a smile on my face. I just love that every time I run it with a different group it always surprises me how different the game turns out.
If you created an undead creature or animal that doesn’t currently exist, what would it be?
I don’t know if this falls in the category of undead or animal, but I am currently working on a creature for my next Ptolus 4 session arc that is a combination of Viola Violet’s blueberry scene and the corrosive acid from a Xenomorpth. Trust me it will make sense once I figure out all the abilities and the stat block lol.
Have you ever felt like an outsider in the TTRPG space? Describe if you can.
As a Latino male growing up in a predominantly Hispanic and African American neighborhood. We didn’t have anywhere local where roleplaying games where accessible to us. We would have to travel from our neighborhood to more affluent ones if we wanted to purchase books or play any sort of organize play. So we were always the outsiders in that sense. It never stopped me or my friends from falling in love with the hobby though.
