The Topic: What Would You Like to Do in TTRPGs?
If you could do anything professionally for Tabletop Roleplaying Games, what would it be? Design a complete game? Write an adventure, or a setting? Do some cool art? Handle marketing or social media? Sound design, video production, AP performer? What would you love to do?

I usually just throw money around, but I’ve thought about writing free quality of life software. Stuff to keep the game running more smoothly, plus things like a six-gun character sheet app, etc.
Aloof
As a GM, I’ve designed plenty of adventures and settings over the years. Most of them aren’t really something that could be used by others without a ton of work stripping out all of the specifics that tailored them to my groups. That being said, I do have one adventure that I wrote as a one-shot, and have run close to a dozen times, that I’ve written up to give to friends for them to run on their own. Similarly, I also have one small setting that I’ve been toying with cleaning up and creating a document for others to adapt and run. And beyond that, I have two lightweight trpgs that I have been working on – one in a much more real/concrete state than the other. Originally I had intended these both to just be for myself, friends and family, but the more I work on them, the more I wonder about making them for a more open release.

I think it would be fun to Design a game or a setting. Like aloof, I’d also write software. I’ve created a couple tools in the past, but I don’t really use them anymore.

Personally I know a ton of people who would love to be game designers and writers for TTRPGs, but this hobby/business is so broad, there’s so much to do. From actual play performers to marketing, editors to artists, there’s a lot of places to contribute. We’ll look at ways to get into the hobby in future articles.

RPG News
This weekend I attended Granite State Comic Con in Manchester NH, a two-day weekend convention. It’s one of the largest comic cons in Northern New England. As with many other cons, it’s growing and evolving to include TTRPGS and pop culture. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area, it happens every September.
