Today we launch a crowdfunding campaign for our latest TTRPG adventure and setting, Six-Gun Doomsday.
After the U.S. Civil War, as the Union expanded west through the lands the indigenous peoples called home, a horrifying torrent of malevolence known as the Doomsday was released on the world, its cause still unknown. The macabre creatures and forces unleashed destruction on all, leaving the scarce survivors nearly hopeless. The few scattered heroes were left with only their skills, the arcane secrets of past mystics, and the bizarre creations of deviant inventors to fight the oncoming forces of darkness.
Six-Gun Doomsday is a tabletop role-playing game adventure and setting about survival after a gothic horror apocalypse set in the weird west of an alternate Earth, ten years after the end of the U.S. Civil War. It uses rules based on Monte Cook Games’ Cypher System and adds a lot of great new stuff to it.
The Good Stuff
- A full-length campaign with adventures that form a complete story arc, or can be played as one-session adventures.
- The Setting: The Spirits of Life are positive forces and beings. Good-hearted people trust them and call on them in times of need. The Spirits of Doom are hostile forces released in the Doomsday, which threaten the remaining population of Earth.
- 2 new descriptors: Bedeviled, those who were imbued with demonic spirits at Doomsday. Neither possessed nor destroyed, they were able to shake off corruption by fiendish spirits, but were left with effects from these spirits. Unbound, those fiends unleashed at Doomsday, but instead of going on to corrupt and destroy humans, they were affected by the spirit of unity in humanity. They turned from the destructive ways of their demonic kin and were overwhelmed with the desire to help humanity as a way to atone for their evil past.
- 2 new flavors for characters: Tinkerer, those with the inclination to experiment and invent with new technologies discovered in the Industrial Revolution. Believers, those who have strong faith in spiritual entities and forces and are granted mystic powers for their beliefs.
- Doom Cyphers: A Doom cypher is a power to be called on only when absolutely neededas its use exposes a character to the Spirits of Doom. It is a risk for the future, in exchange for power.
Survive In a Weird West World of Horror
There are many games that take place in a weird west setting. There are many games of gothic horror. There are a lot of post-apocalyptic games. Six-Gun Doomsday is all of these – a setting and adventure about a gothic horror apocalypse set in the weird west of an alternate world

What is so Weird About This West?
Before Doomsday, the industrial revolution that brought waves of wondrous devices enabling improved means of production also empowered a generation of inventors whose devices could be rightly described as curious and bizarre. Their creations were often astounding and occasionally dangerous. Average citizens scoffed at these newfangled machines which left them uninformed about new methods of production but equally safe from any of its accidental abnormalities.
Gothic Horror – What Was the Doomsday?
Folks were caught unaware at Doomsday when malevolent and wrathful forces exploded from the mountains, unleashing legions of horrors which would envelop the lands from west to east, torturing and destroying 90% of all life. Rumors following Doomsday blamed eccentric inventors for summoning the incursion with their demented devices while others blamed shamans and savants who had delved into arcane forces best left buried.
After the Apocalypse
Survivors were left to continue with few resources and no functional government or support network to aid them. Communities are few and trusting relationships nearly non-existent. Some search for reasons, preparing for a coming battle with legions of terror. Some accept the world as it is and seek to build a civilization from what remains. Many seek only to survive another day.
