It’s Wednesday so it’s time for another interview with a member of the TTRPG community! Today we’ll hear from Karee of Critical Hit Cookies!
What does she do?
Karee created an online cookie company for gamers. She’s also a participant in the Horizons Unknown stream, a Horizons of the Vast playthrough and on True Crit, an Outlaws of Alkenstar stream.

What attracted you to TTRPGs?
I fell into TTRPGs by accident. I was promised that I could play as my favorite book character from my favorite series. With that promise, I was sold on playing. Once I began playing, I was instantly attracted to the ability to be anyone and do anything. I enjoy roleplaying and combat both and so all aspects of the game appeal to me. It’s a way to be a hero in your own story and who doesn’t long for that.
If you created a TTRPG about anything, what would it be like?
The obvious answer would be baking but to be honest, I’ve yet to find a topic that someone else hasn’t already written a TTRPG for. There are so many creative people at work in the field and my creativity tends to manifest in my baking more than in writing.
What celebrity would you like to GM or play an RPG with?
Felicia Day would be amazing to play with. I’ve been a big fan of her work for years.
What other hobbies are you interested in?
I’m a big fan of baking (obviously) as well as a big reader. I maintain a daily workout routine that gives me the stamina to game for long hours.
What do you think is absolutely essential in creating a safe space for all in a TTRPG game?
I’m a big fan of the X tools and starting with a session zero. All of the participants need to be on the same page for expectations if a game is to be successful. If someone has a line, it’s only by sharing that information that you can avoid them. That being said, any lines should be honored without having to explain why.
